Places to Stay

Cottonwood, where we live, is not exactly a tourist destination (unless, of course, you want to visit the local Wal-Mart), but it is bordered on all sides by beautiful, destination-worthy locales like Sedona, Jerome, and Prescott.

We suspect that hotel rates in Cottonwood will be more affordable than in Sedona or elsewhere, though they’ll also likely be a bit more no-frills here. Below, you’ll find some suggestions on places to stay in our area.

In Cottonwood

These hotels and inns are all within a two-minute drive to our place and to the reception site.

Little Daisy Motel: It’s a small and homey-looking little motel right on Main Street, just a two-minute drive to our place and to the Piñon Bistro, where we’re having the reception. (See reviews at Trip Advisor.)

Budget Inn: Fran has seen the rooms here and they seem clean and decent and hotel-like. This may be the most convenient spot for the reception, as its parking lot adjoins the lot for Piñon Bistro. So, you know, you can stumble drunkenly to your bed after dinner. A potential pitfall: on the other side, the place adjoins a McDonald’s. (See reviews at Trip Advisor.)

Super 8: Fran has seen the rooms here, too, and they’re equally clean and hotel-like. The Super 8 has a pool, though it faces Main Street. This hotel is also within walking distance of the reception site. (See reviews at Trip Advisor.)

Best Western: We hear this place is on the fancier side, but we haven’t been inside. It’s convenient if you’re planning to take the Sedona-Phoenix shuttle to or from the airport, as it’s one of the shuttle stops. (See reviews at Trip Advisor.)
