I’m Frances. I live in northwestern Massachusetts, where New Yorkers vacation on the weekend and huge mountains of snow accumulate half the year. This, after a lifetime in New York City and its surrounding, depressing suburbs.
Briefly, I enjoyed the benefits of overpayment and understimulation during the dot-com boom. You can read more about that fiasco here. It went out of fashion pretty quickly and eventually I found myself slinging espresso at a vegetarian cafĂ© for two years while juggling freelance design gigs. These days, I do full-time freelance consulting work in web design and information architecture. I read a lot more now, but I’m still drinking too much coffee, particularly if it’s from Stumptown. I like to take pictures, and make paintings and prints, too.
Perhaps you would like to hire me to build your website?
Current obsessions: vintage scarves, chewing gum, dog-eared paperbacks, mix discs, packages in the mail, yoga, things that are colored mint green, red, and teal, handbags, collage, polka dots, fresh herbs and vegetables, cheese, ice cream.
