Last Gasp

It’s a good thing we got out when we did, because summer appears to be officially over. Outside, gray clouds hang low, the distant hills are misty, and the roads have become shiny black reflections of the orange and red trees above them.

I do love autumn, and the good of what comes along with it: layers, light scarves, jackets, leather boots, root vegetables, squash, soup, and hot tea. I like the look of the world at this time of year, and it feels more to me like a time of renewal than spring, or even the new year.

A work project I care about is moving into production right now, and I’ll be very busy over the next two months working on that. Hopefully I’ll have time for more than just a passing glance at the clouds moving outside of my office window.
