When Dan and I moved out to Arizona, to a house at least three times the size of the studio apartment we shared in New York, one of the first things we did was trek down to Ikea to pick up a couch. Unfortunately, we returned from that trip couchless and out $600, and our livingroom still has the feeling of an abandoned dormitory common area (fireplace, flat panel television, two chairs).
Couch or not, nothing could stop me from getting my grubby hands on a beautiful pillow by Lisa Congdon, famed crafty lady and esteemed blogger. Lisa was kind enough to work me into her busy commissions schedule, and I waited gleefully to see what she’d conjure up.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, the pillow has arrived. As you can see, it’s lovely. But until everything at Design Within Reach goes on sale, or we unearth a midcentury modern couch at one of the myriad estate sales around here, the plump, colorful pillow will remain on my bed. And that’s just fine, because Kovick likes it there.
