Everything Old is New Again

This weekend, I reupholstered some chairs I’d gotten from my grandmother.
Before:

Sure, it looks okay, but upon closer inspection, this chair was very dirty, and its seat was moldy and water-stained.
After:

The new chairs, surrounding our salvaged diner-style kitchen table. We covered them in a turquoise vintage fabric, a navy blue whale-embroidered fabric, and an African print.

What I Do on the Weekend

Herbed biscuits with flax seeds

Makes 16 2 1/2-inch biscuits
3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 teaspoons granulated sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon table salt
3 tablespoons minced fresh herbs (I used dill)
2 tablespoons flax seeds
3 cups heavy cream
