For Father’s Day, my brothers got my father a Fudgie the Whale cake from Carvel. My piece had the weird gelatinous whale eyeball on it, like an ominous indicator of what a bad daughter I am.

Also, on a related and excruciatingly geeky note: during one family gathering, my brothers and I sang a barbershop quartet-styled rendition of the entire 1980s Carvel theme song at the dinner table, much to the shock and eventual amusement of our parents. It was awesome.
