I know, it’s been a while. Like Dawn, I haven’t felt much like sharing recently.

This morning I was greeted by another depressing article in the Times on unemployment in New York City. In case there was any doubt about the state of affairs here, the Times’ liberal use of the word “recession” will reassure you that yes, it is as bad as it seems — and it’s been getting that way since before 9/11. It’s a miracle my place of employment has hung on for so long. (And that its patrons generously stuff their dollars into my tip jar every afternoon — I live off that tip jar!) In the meantime, I’m shuffling through the want ads and hitting up every person I know for contacts. Fingers crossed that this can last through to September when the loans come through and I can ride this thing out in grad school.
