My most favorite, most beloved post-punk songwriting heartthrob, Ted Leo, is releasing a new album early next month and I simply MUST have it. I’m going to start saving now. Mark my words.
Swoon.

You hipped me to the TL, Fran :) He’s damn good.
Hope you guys are going to Danny’s show tonight!
c: well, his girlfriend played it for me a while ago. and well soulseek is good for pretty much anything. for instance, the new Sea & Cake album (they cover Bowie!)
Okay everyone — anonymous or not — we all love Ted Leo now don’t we?
Ebin: I think we’ll be there!
“I’m a ghost and I wanted you to know that its taking all my strength to make this toast”
I just downloaded it a few days ago via SS and its magnificent. Half the songs have that old Beatles production trick of hard panning the drums left and bass right. You can swing the balance nob and suddenly its just Ted and his guitar and some noises seranading(?) you in your bedroom. This record is also way more a product of a live band getting people to move their asses, whereas most if Tyranny sounds like it was written on an acoustic guitar in the basement. Swoon indeed!
Antinonhuman: What is SS? Will it run on a Mac? Thanks for your description of the record — I like that Beatles-esque trick. I can’t wait to hear it! I will dance around my apartment in my undies just like I did with “Tyranny”!
The mighty soulseek

Its just another file sharing application that has caught on. You can find really obscure stuff on it. No Mac version on the site, but my friend got it to work with a Mac so I can ask him. I can also IM the files to you, they’re 160 bitrate.
Antinon, I thought you might have been referring to SoulSeek, but I took a look and saw no Mac version. Perhaps I can figure out a way to make it work, too. Strangely, I have trouble receiving files via AIM. It’s too bad…’cause now I really want to hear the record!
