The People I Love are Spread So Far Apart

I’m not terribly fond of doling out my slave wages in support of a commercialized Christian holiday–especially considering at this point, there isn’t much left after rent and bills and food staples–I do like giving gifts and making stuff, so I figured this year, the two could work hand-in-hand. But for the love of Big Baby Jesus, what gave me the idea that I could pump out several dozen cookies, design and print a vegan cookbook, pick up a few slingshot datebooks at the anarchist bookstore, and finish three college applications all in one week?!
Also in question: Should I bake a trayful for the superintendent of my building? He’s a nice guy. He turns on the main breaker when the bathroom heater shorts out the eastern half of my apartment. So is that weird, to give him cookies?
Okay, I’m off. iTunes is blasting, cookies will be baking, college applications will be assembling.
hi
no it’s not weird to bake him cookies
its’ not very new york
apartment building protocol
but fuck that hard right???
make him some!!!!!!!
I stumbled on your website somehow through the twists and turns of the internet by searching for bikini kill sites. Fantastic site by the way. Anyway, I think you should give the super some cookies, as long as you don’t think he is some kind of wacko that will take your good gesture the wrong way. Here in seattle i get a poinsetta every year from my landlord. I usually return the favor with one of those large cans of the three kinds of popcorn or some butter cookies. Anyway, it will probably make his day. just a few cents worth. bye.
Good luck with the apps and the cookies and all. And happy holidays!
1) good luck on the cookbook! aren’t vegan food zines THEE BEST?
b) high five on the cookie idea. that’s about the cutest gesture i’ve heard all season.
3) do you have a PO box or any place to mail you junk? i noticed your birthday was a day before mine (why didn’t i notice this before?) so now i feel compelled to spread some capricorn-luv to the east coast<3
So I did bake the cookies and he seemed to really like ‘em. Score!
LK: I do have a place to send mail-stuffs, email me about it. I’d love to send you the food zine, too, when it’s finally done! (Looks like it’s going to be a post-xmas present for all.)
