Wake and Bake

Right now I’m listening to Nico’s “Chelsea Girl,” which I received off my wishlist this weekend from an extremely giving and kind gritmedia reader. Thank you. It is, of course, amazing. I have some sort of predilection for music featuring woeful string sections, so this fits nicely into the collection. Though it is nearly drowned out by the constant blasting and blaring of the traffic outside.

So lately all I’ve wanted to do is bake treats and eat them. No sharing. Fortunately this desire has been quelled by my feverish rush to complete grad school applications these past few weeks. On Monday, I sent out my first choice application, and I’m reworking the rest of them now. As soon as that whole process is done (this weekend, I’m thinking), I’ll begin to contruct my little cookbook, a.k.a This Year’s Christmas Present for Everyone. I’m trying to decide if I want to mock it all up onscreen with one of the myriad layout programs that I only sort of know how to use, or type everything up and go at it the old fashioned cut-and-paste fanzine way. What do you think?

Your design skills are great, so I’d go the way that makes things easier for you.

Danny, are you implying that I have a fat gut? Damn!

And yeah, I think I am going to go the cut-and-paste route. Easier and funner. Funnerer. Er.

Dude I was reading that John Updike story in the New Yorker and you are right, his sentences are super fucking long. That being said, I didn’t finish it.
