I came upon this idea as I was sitting here, sipping my Irish Breakfast tea and waiting for my hair to dry. (Where did my hairdryer go? I think I left it in Crown Heights, along with my lawsuit-happy landlord in that craptastic apartment she rented us.)
I must write a weekly column.
It’s the only way I’ll ever be prolific, the only way I’ll ever have a long list of fabulous links to my writing. The daily blog is NOT ENOUGH. Will Leitch does it in his Life as a Loser column. I worked with him at Brill’s Content, and he’s already gone on to bigger and better things. Meanwhile, I’ve been putzing around, collecting unemployment and eating nonstop for the last year and change since that magazine folded. Totally unacceptable.
As soon as these MFA applications are in the mail, I swear, a column this way will come.
Fran,
I’ve had the exact same thought but am yet to produce the goods. I got stuck on a theme, and have been hoping that somewhere between episodes of Survivor:Thailand and scoffing down little vegan orange and lemon cakes that it would magically come to me. Still waiting.
PS: SEE you soon. Yes, -see! I’ll be in your city in three weeks for two months. Shall we meet up?
Kate: Yes, theme is important. I’m sure I’ll be stuck on that as well.
Two months in New York?! That’s great…we should definitely meet up.
Oooh! A column from Gritmedia?!
