The Benjamins

This afternoon I went on a job interview for a position that I am thoroughly unqualified for because the woman in charge of hiring somehow read something on my resume that was never there in the first place. Well then, a waste of time for both of us. It’s too bad, because the company looked like a decent place to work. As I was waiting in the reception area, employees were heading out to lunch — most of them smiling at me as they passed. Nice!

I’m attempting to find a better job so that I may come even slightly close to being able to pay my rent this month. But with the café cutting my hours and freelance jobs at a minimum, things are starting to get depressing. I’m lining up unnecessary items to sell on Ebay and Craig’s List, consuming peanut butter and jelly at every meal.

Gritmedia, of course, is an unnecessary expenditure, but it hasn’t come to that yet.
