Think Cubic

Sometimes I think iTunes knows more than it lets on. Just now, it played in a row: Le Shock;s “She Prefers Whips,” then “I’m Not Like Everybody Else” by the Chocolate Watchband, then “Smashed, Blocked” by John’s Children. It was a noisy, garagey hit fest. I iTunes.

Right now I am enjoying the afterglow of a sucessful home-improvement project. In anticipation of possibly adding the boy as a live-in fixture, I’ve gone ahead and installed two new shelves above the swank white Ikea storage locker. What you need to know is that last time I attempted to install shelves (with those fancy metal screw-and-support sets), they collapsed under the weight of my books and I had to give myself a time out in the bathroom. This time ’round, things were much more sucessful, hence the blissful post-DIY home repair joyousness. Did you just have sex? asked Danny via AIM. Nope, even better: I used a drill.

Inspired by Ikea’s latest campaign, I’m “thinking cubic” and using the wall space to maximize the mere 200 or so square feet that I’ve been spreading out in since June. It can be done! The current worry is what to do with all of our discs and records, of which there are several hundred. So the true test of storage space efficiency begins…Any suggestions?
