The long weekend that is my new schedule has come to an end. Opening the café during the week has allowed me the privilege of weekends off — weekends that include Monday, as the café is closed then. Weekends off mean that I can hit the town along with all the other kids on Friday night, and hit the town I did — consuming a bit too much to drink but having a good time nonetheless. The bunsendew crew were in effect, partially at least, which meant instantaneous good times and lots of giggling.
Saturday I headed out to the homeland for birthday celebrations with my mom, who took on another year with grace. One of her gifts was a matinee of Contact, so the ‘rents carted me back into the city on Sunday.
Finally all the planning has paid off and I am officially a graduate candidate for an MA in creative writing. If it weren’t for the whole financial aid situation, I’d be thrilled. Broke as I may be, however, I’m not about to let them keep me from my advanced degree. I’ll be back on the campus later this week when (hopefully) there won’t be swarms of students to contend with.
It’s still early and I’m very sleepy…
